Soy-Based Infant Formula Linked to Seizures in Autism

Reports on the harmful health effects of soy are not new, however a recent study from the University of Wisconsin links the use of soy infant formula and increased risk of seizures in children with autism. The Best Anti-Depressant

“Walking is the quickest anti-depressant on the market today”, reports author and psychologist John Arden, PhD. Walking re-connects us to our bodies, the space around us, nature, regenerating ions and helps clear the mind, relieving stress.

Dr. Arden says his patients often want a quick-fix with an anti-depressant prescription and he asks them if they would prefer an anti-depressant with positive or negative side effects. When they say of course I want positive results, he tells them to walk.

Reflexology Effective for Pins and Needles Symptom of MS

What's Happening to Our Children's Brains?

The bone marrow of a child’s head absorbs 10 times more radiation from cell phones than adults. Cell phones are two-way microwave radios that were never properly tested for safety. Continually searching for signals from towers, the body or brain absorbs about half the radiation emitted from a phone at any time.

After 50 minutes of holding a cell phone next to the ear, an adult brain shows changes in glucose metabolism (the brain’s fuel). Research also suggests that it can disturb heart rate.  We can take practical measures to reduce exposure.

Foot-to-Brain Connection in Reflexology

The authors of a University School of Medicine study in Japan examined the relationship between brain activity and the areas in the feet called reflex areas that are the mapping system for reflexologists.  The research used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) that showed when reflexology stimulation was applied to specific areas of the foot, the part of the brain that corresponds with that  somatosensory area was activated. They concluded that a neuroimaging approach can be used to examine the basis of reflexology effects.

Similar studies that measured brainwave activity and corticol stimulation from foot reflexology suggest a rise in alpha frequencies where the brain is more relaxed. Research by Jesus Manzanares, MD from Spain was conducted to study effective duration for foot reflexology application

Autism, Autoimmune & Brain Fog: What do they have in common?

According to Dr. Vikki Petersen, DC, CCN, co-author of  “The Gluten Effect” and author of “Gluten Intolerance- What you don’t know may be killing you!”, the cornerstone of  most degenerative diseases including heart disease, diabetes and cancer is inflammation. Hopefully you are hearing this news on every turn.  Sadly, inflammation is a silent ravager, is rampant and needs urgent attention.

Headaches, neurological problems, leaky gut, autism, cancer and autoimmune disease are being shown to be related to inflammation. What’s the answer? Health experts and researchers point to a gluten-free diet that is an anti-inflammatory diet, low in carbs and high in good fats.  An abundance of studies reveal the association between Gluten in the diet and leaky gut which affects the nervous system and wrecks havoc through inflammation.
